Ph.D. Program
Proposed Instructional Technology Ph.D. Program
As you know, the Instructional Technology program in George Mason University’s College of Education and Human Development is in the process of creating its own Ph.D. program to start in the Fall of 2009. This new Ph.D. program will allow students to do in depth research in disciplines like: design-based research methods, innovation and creativity in the design of learning technologies, cross-disciplinary applications, and emerging technologies and practices.
The plans for proposing this new Ph.D. in Instructional Technology are still in effect, but because the university will not be sending forth any new Ph.D. proposals until Fall of 2009, the approval process may be delayed by two years. In the meantime, development of the new courses will continue and will be offered as they are available. Students would be able to take these new courses as part of the existing Ph.D. in Education program until the new Ph.D. in Instructional Technology is approved.
If you would like to start in our existing Ph.D. in Education program, please visit the Ph.D. website - gse.gmu.edu/programs/phd.
